I've got an image I have cropped out parts of (ensuring that i did this is a transparent background in adobe) and when i georectify it and set the parameters to make the resulting black areas invisible it works in arcmap, the minute i sid the georectified image it crates messy black static in my transparent areas! does anyone have an explination for this....dosid images hate blank space or what? is there something i have to make sure i set up in geoexpress?? help!

This happens anytime you compress imagery. Data must be changed to make the compression happen. You can use the despeckle tool (GeoExpress 7) to clean up the no-data areas of most images.

You can despeckle existing images or apply it when you are encoding. Just add existing images to the despeckle tab, and for new images, check the despeckle output box when encoding.
