MrSID Viewer and Generation 3 SID files

Does the regular Mr. SID Viewer, not the newer web based one, support and open Gen 3 SID files?

Hello,

The older MrSID Viewer does not support the Generation3 SID format.

You will want to use the ExpressView Browser Plug-in to view SID files.

Are there any plans to provide a more functional, but small footprint, application that can open Gen2 and Gen3 images? I still use the old MrSID Viewer everyday and compress new mosaics in that format so I and others can view/work with them easier. The pyramids are there and being able to export out a small chunk at an appropriate resolution (which the browser plugin forgoes) is one of the best features of the MrSID Viewer. Thanks,

Larry

Larry,

We are going to be releasing a new GeoViewer in the next couple of months that will support both MG2 and MG3.
