Input tile/tiff limit for mosaics?

Postby mschonlau » Tue Sep 08, 2009 8:23 am

Is there a limit to the number of input tiles (tiffs) I can use to produce a mosaic MrSID? I've got approximately 36,000 tiff's I'd like to mosaic into a single image. They are only about 1Mb each.

Hello,

There is no limit to the number of input files or size of the output image you can produce with GeoExpress and MrSID Generation 3 (Generation 2 does have a file size limit of 2 GB).

I have the same issue...using full version of Gexpress 6.0 w a 1TB catridge. Trying to create a MG3 mosaic from several thousand jp2 files. Get error when trying to add them as tiles that says:

"Exceeded Win32 fixed length buffer! Too many files selected for Open Command. Refer to Help for recommended file management workflow."

I go to the help file and search for this error and it says:

"This is a limitation of the .NET Framework. If you need to open more input files than the .NET Framework will allow you to select, drag and drop them into the Jog list."

A search in the help for this "jog list" reveals nothing. Brilliant.

That should read "drag and drop the files into the Job list". Whether you are adding individual images or otherwise.

You can add multiple files at once. Select all and drag and drop.
