Black tiles in SID mosaic

I have a large collection of TIFF tiles that I am mosaicing into Gen3 SID images. There will be 16 SIDs in total, and 11 of them have run successfully. The other 5 are having an interesting and very frustrating problem.

On each of the 5 problem images, the TIFF tile in the western most column and fifth row from the bottom is black. These tiles don't appear to have anything wrong with them. They display properly in ER Mapper and ArcGIS. They even display properly in the GeoExpress preview window. But the output SID has that same position on each mosaic black.

What version of GeoExpress do you have?
