Free standalone MrSID v.3 viewer for Windows?

Postby Alex » Thu Apr 08, 2010 8:33 pm

Hi folks,

is there any small, standalone and free viewer of MrSIDv.3 images for Windows? Just a viewer, without any advanced features...For v.2, I am using "Lizardtech MrSID viewer" for years (which is obsolete and not even available at this site anymore I guess, but it is still working fine).

But it is not compatible with your SIDv.3 images, and the ONLY way to watch to them for me now - is to use MrSID IE plugin...any alternatives???

Robert, is there any standalone application or complete setup file for download please?

I have downloaded the setup (which is only 0.6Mb in size), but starting that it reported in needs to download something more 35++Mb, and there are no any controls on this process.

The problem that our local server is to block any self-opened connections from any software not being in "trusted" list on local domain.

I can easily download full setup and install it manually in full. But setup itself just not permitted to do that. Especially and strictly NO for .NETapps "unknown socket-knockings to nowhere" here. Our admin is a bit paranoid - and he is paid especially for this...:)

Any help? I believe that there must be a "CD-version" or "standalone-installer" or something like that. No net-based installs please... :(

Or maybe any URL\files list? I'll download them all and feed to the net-installer somehow....?

Thanks in advance.
