[Mosaicking] What is the tile counter's limit for GE7?

Postby Alex » Sun Apr 11, 2010 10:28 pm

Hi folks,

I am curious what is the limit for the tile's count while making a mosaic using pre-ccreated AUX file?

Currently I am trying to make a square mosaic of 262.144 tiles (where each of tile is a .jpg 256x256 px). I have pre-created an AUX file for the such of job, contains 262144 lines of the tilepath followed by the X/Y pixel's offsets.

Trying to run the encoding in the GUI causes hangs of the application almost immediately.
Trying to run the encoding usung the command promt - heavily loads the CPU and after some hours brings me an error:
---------------------------
G:\bin>mrsidgeoencoder.exe -mos -lossless -input output.aux -o output.sid

Using local license
<...a few hours passed...>
This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way.
Please contact the application's support team for more information.
---------------------------

Encoding a smaller mosaics (say, 1024 or 8192 same tiles) using the very same way - works perfectly and creates the correct and viewable .SID file.

I recommend you contact support:
h_t_t_p://w_w_w.lizardtech.com/support/contact.php

They can help you with specifics.

It could be that one or more of your files is corrupt.
