Error updating mosaic

I'm trying to update a mosaic by adding a single tile, and I keep getting the following error:
Failed to encode image
could not zero fill cache file (disc space) [50233]
An error occurred while encoding

The mosaic to be updated is about 10 GB, and the tile I'm trying to add is 182 MB. They are both on the same disk, which has 142 GB of free space, and my designated temp directory, which is on the same disk, is empty. The tile has a slightly different resolution, but I checked "enable multiresolution updating".

Any suggestions?
