I am using the unlimited version of GeoExpress 8 and it is not reading my tiff world files. I have the 'allow world files to override native georeferencing' on in the preferences.
I use the exact same file in GeoExpress 7 and it outputs the correct geo-reference.

I have done some testing and have found that if I select a coordinate system meta data when creating my .sid file that it will put 0,0 as the upper left geo coordinate of the image and not retain the information within the world file. This is with the override geo-reference with world file option selected.
This is not the way it worked in version 7

The "Allow world files to override native georeferencing" switch means that GeoExpress will ignore anything in the metadata of the file and read only what you have in an - world file.
So having that switch on means setting the metadata will be ignored. I see this as confusing, but that's the way it is. What you should find is this:
With Allow world files ON:
image.sid
image.sdw
The output image.sid should have the same coordinates as image.sdw and no projection information as the projection information would be ignored.

My issue is with tiff files (no geotiff header) with a .tfw world file. Since they are not geotiff files I have to turn on the allow world files option to get the coordinate information. This works fine unless I try and add the projection info by going to the Options->meta data and defining the projection
Now if I compress it, it does not read the world file coordinates and my file is at 0,0 origin.
As I stated previously this exact procedure worked fine in version 7.0

I recommend that you contact support so you can send world files and maybe example images that they can review and help you figure out what is happening.
