GeoExpress stops encoding when Win 7 Enterprise PC is locked

Postby landuse » Mon Feb 20, 2012 2:32 am

I have just received a new 64bit Win 7 Enterprise PC. It seems like when I lock my Pc for the night, GeoExpress sometimes stops encoding images, and then resumes when I log on again in the morning

Is there a way to fix this? Is this problem widespread? What can I do?

Thanks

Hello,

What version of GeoExpress are you using? You can find the full version number in the Help menu.

Also, make sure that your computer is not set to go to sleep after a certain number of minutes. Locking a computer does not stop any processes (including GeoExpress), so I suspect your computer is "falling asleep".

Thanks for that. I found what the problem was, and it was like you said. My PC was going to sleep after 20 minutes, even though I had just locked it.

I had to go to the power settings and choose NEVER for the sleep mode as well as NEVER for the option for your hard drive to turn off.
