How to determine the "Gen" of a sid file?

I have a sid file. How can I determine which "Gen", or version, or whatever it's called the file is using?

You can open your file in GeoExpress or the ExpressView Browser Plug-in or via the command-line tool called mrsidgeoinfo to find out which version of the MrSID format the file is in.
