Odd artifacts or objects in MR SID

Postby moWhite » Wed Jun 04, 2008 2:59 pm

I have a collection of MR SID Aerial Photographs from the USDA. I return them using ESRI's Image Server. Very occasionally I'm getting some very odd green swirls and blue donuts over parts or all of the requested image.

The origional images are all MR SID, Image Server edge-matches, makes certain areas transparent, clips, and returns either *.jpg, *.tif, or *.png images. I also have *.tif as the origional images. I've only ever seen this artifact with the MR SID source.

I realize that there are several steps between my origional MR SID and final *.jpg file, but I thought maybe someone on this forum has seen this.

We call it the "Laugh In" or "LSD" effect.

Thanks, Richard

PS -- can I upload a file?

Hello,

Since this is an Image Server issue, I wonder if ESRI support has any information on what might be happening.

At this time there is no way to upload a file to the forum.

You might also try creating an account on h_t_t_p://portal.lizardtech.com and uploading your image there using GeoExpress 7. If you don't have Geoexpress 7, then you can download a free trial version to test.

Once you register on h_t_t_p://portal.lizardtech.com instructions will be sent via email on how to upload your image to the Express Server there.

Then you can view your image and see how it displays.
