Problem with ExpressView 6.5 zooming

Postby davidelevine » Tue Sep 04, 2012 12:33 pm

Hi everyone
I am using ExpressView 6.5 with IE8 or Firefox latest version on Windows XP and I have been having problems zooming into images.
I am viewing images on the New York Public Library's Digital Gallery
ExpressView always worked very well here. However, and I don't know if this is due to the latest version of ExpressView, I cannot zoom in and get the same level of resolution as in the past. Now, the resolution is awful and it is hard to view the images clearly.
In the past when this happened I used to toggle the "Transport Format" in the Express Sever Options from "jpeg" to "native" and this used to work to fix this problem.
Now, if I toggle it to "native" this crashes ExpressView and I have to uninstall and reinstall ExpressView.
I have tried changing the Target Download Size and the Speed/Quality but this doesn't fix the problem
Does anyone have any advice on how to fix this?
It seems to me that the full image is not being downloaded. Why, I don't know...

For example, here is a link to a typical image. To trigger ExpressView, click the "Zoom" button and a second screen will open. Right clicking and choosing "View Full Screen" will maximize the image on the screen. In the past, the image would sharpen, now for me it only sharpens 50% or so...
