Express Server ArcIMS plugin

Postby davidg » Thu Jul 09, 2009 12:56 pm

I am trying to create a map service in ArcIMS and keep getting this error in the Administrator Console:
Adding Service...
> Jul 9, 2009 3:17:29 PM: java.lang.String
<?xml version="1.0"?><ERRORS><ERROR message="[ERR0125] Error when trying to administer Service."/><ERROR message="[ERR0930] Check your map file's layers and data source connections. ArcIMS service abc cannot be created." /></ERRORS>
The map service is not created in ArcIMS Administrator.

I installed the ArcIMS Express Server plugin without a problem and followed the instructions LizardTech instructions for Creating an Image Service. The AXL file created by the irlFetch GUI is this:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>

<ARCXML version="1.1">
<CONFIG>
<ENVIRONMENT>
<LOCALE country="US" language="en" variant="" />
<UIFONT color="0,0,0" name="dialog" size="12" style="regular" />
<SCREEN dpi="96" />
</ENVIRONMENT>
<MAP>
<PROPERTIES>
<ENVELOPE minx="400000.500000" miny="29999.553637" maxx="3060092.513976" maxy="1045000.000000" name="Initial_Extent" />
<MAPUNITS units="decimal_degrees" />
<FILTERCOORDSYS id="2264" />
<FEATURECOORDSYS id="2264" />
</PROPERTIES>
<WORKSPACES>
<IRLWORKSPACE directory="E:\LizardTechPluginforArcIMS\204.211.239.206_80\NCOneMapImagery" name="jai_ws-0" />
</WORKSPACES>
<LAYER type="image" name="iserv-catalog-index.irl" visible="true" id="0">
<DATASET name="iserv-catalog-index.irl" type="image" workspace="jai_ws-0" />
<COORDSYS id="2264" />
</LAYER>
</MAP>
</CONFIG>
</ARCXML>
We are running Express Server 6.1, ArcIMS 9.1 SP1, Windows 2003 Server. ArcIMS is running in a distributed environment, meaning the application and spatial servers are 2 physical machines. Express Server is running on a 3rd different machine. Any help would be appreciated!

You could try installing the Express Server plug-in for ArcIMS in both places (the spatial server and the application server). The installed dll is needed to make the irl connection work.
