We just migrated our Express Server to another CPU. In the process we updated from version 5.0 to 5.2
The new server is running Windows Server 2003 Standard Edition SP 2, using IIS 6.
We set up the server as instructed, however we had difficulty finding a Java runtime environment that the installation would accept. The one recommended for this version of ES is out of date of course, so we are using Java SE 6u14 (jdk1.6.0_14, JRE 6)
The server is able to work normally when accessed from Internet Explorer, even version 8. When the SID file is accessed in Firefox 3.0.11 for windows, Safari 4.0.2 for windows, or Google Chrome 2.0.172.37, the browser just quits. Sometimes it freezes as the plugin is starting up.
It happens even with our default Express Server web site (h_t_t_p://maps.csuchico.edu:9001/StyleServ ... escription),cat(Name,Description)
We have been unable to find any information about this problem.
Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

Hello,
I recommend that you upgrade to Express Server 6.1 and discontinue using the Style Server. You can uninstall the Style Server component individually, and Express Server 6.1 leaves this component off by default, avoiding any need for Java.
The plug-in issues may be unrelated to Express Server and I would recommend contacting support@lizardtech.com with more details.
