GIF Transparency

Postby matpicard » Mon May 26, 2008 8:23 am

Hi,
I'm having some problems with Express Server 6 when I'm trying to get a transparent GIF image of our mosaic using a WMS GetMap request with the TRANSPARENT=TRUE parameter. Everytime I try it, areas that should be transparent are black. When I open the resulting GIF image in an image editor and setting manually the transparent color to black, it works as intended. So the problem seems to be that Express Server doesn't set the transparent color in the resulting GIF Image.

This behavior only occurs with GIF format. I have no problem getting a transparent PNG of the same mosaic with the same WMS GetMap request.

I've read the documentation but didn't find anything on this subject ...

Thanks

Hello,

I am sorry I did not see this message earlier.

After some investigation, it looks like this is not the desired behavior and I will have to look into this further to see if it is a bug or if there is something we can do to make this work as expected.

I'll post here as I have more information.

Thanks,
rparker
