What would be the best strategy to create a system to display a composite view of of many MrSID files of the same projection but possibly different resolutions? Would it be best to use a MosaicFilter, a set of MosaicFilters, or a set of individual MrSIDImageReaders which export to a single SceneBuffer?

LTIMosaicFilter will insert a LTIMultiResFilter before any tile that needs it, so you should be okay with a single LTIMosaicFilter.
