A customer has just given me an old .SID file that they use, and it causes both my app and the GeoViewer app to freeze while loading the data. It seems that the ltic_openMrSIDImageFile() call enters and never exits. Any idea why this would happen or how to detect bad files?
Simply stalling on bad data isn't helpful - the customer couldn't figure out that it was a bad file until we started to investigate why the app wasn't working. If we can get some kind of an error or detect bad files, then I can give the user a message to check the file.
Thanks!

Hello,
If you send the file in question to support@lizardtech.com, we can investigate this further. If the file is too large to send, please write support anyway and we can arrange an FTP transfer.
Thank you,
