How to invoke multiple instances of MrSIDFileReader in SDK?

Postby JLTEC » Fri Jul 15, 2011 2:03 pm

Hi,

I have been developing a 3D viewer which combines elevation data with images. This program has been optimized for multi-core, parallelized processing on a system with very fast memory and disk access.

One of the data formats I am attempting to support is MrSID using the SDK. Unfortunately I have found data reads to be very limiting. My goal of this is to quickly read data from multiple MrSID files or multiple readers acting on the same file. There does not seem to be an easy way to invoke multiple MrSIDFileReader instances under one process. It would be highly undesirable to either have a single MrSIDFileReader or create numerous processes to serve as extra readers for the primary controlling process.

It would very helpful if I could be pointed to an example which would achieve what I need to do. If this task is not possible, then I may need to avoid MrSID altogether.

Thank you,

JL
