Exporting Cropped Images

Postby youngy » Mon Jul 13, 2009 3:36 am

Hi,
I have cropped an image but I can't figure out how to export this. When I oppen the .sid file it still shows the entire extent - not the area I cropped..
Thanks
Mark

Hello,

Please give me more information about the process you used to crop the file. Are you certain you are opening the new cropped file? It will have a unique file name and will not replace the original file. The file name would probably look something like this:

filename_1.sid

Hi,
Been a while since I tried this. I can crop OK and save as a .prj file but cannot seem to create another actual .sid file.
Thanks

Hello,

It seems you have been using GeoViewer (rather than GeoExpress). If you are using GeoExpress, the way to "save" the file is to press the "Encode Selected Images" button and create a new MrSID image with your cropping choices.
