LizardTech Joins Kofax’s Technology Alliance Partner Program

SEATTLE, Wash., April 7, 2004 – LizardTech, Inc. today announced that it has joined the Kofax Technology Alliance Partners (TAP) program. LizardTech is a worldwide leader in software solutions that make it significantly easier to manage, distribute, and access digital content such as aerial photography, satellite images and color image documents.

In becoming a participating member in the TAP program, LizardTech will tightly integrate Kofax’s award-winning Ascent Capture platform with LizardTech”s Document Express with DjVu Enterprise Edition 5.0 set for release in June 2004.

“Today’s companies are looking for more efficient ways to maximize the value and accessibility of their paper-based assets, which often contain mission critical information,” said Luc Vincent, LizardTech vice president of document imaging. “By integrating the powerful Ascent platform from Kofax with our Document Express with DjVu package, LizardTech will offer customers a streamlined and scalable solution for scanning, compressing, storing, and distributing paper documents, in full color and with very high visual quality.”

Through the seamless integration of the industry-leading Ascent Capture platform with Document Express, LizardTech will provide customers with out-of-the-box access to the speed and efficiency of DjVu, a highly compressed file format that can greatly reduce labor costs associated with scanning as well as document storage and bandwidth costs.

Electronic and scanned color or black-and-white documents such as statements, articles, manuals, invoices, records and catalogs are compressed into dramatically smaller file sizes for efficient searching, indexing and access over any size network without sacrificing the true visual quality of the document. The integration of the Kofax Ascent platform with LizardTech’s Document Express solution enables customers to easily convert paper documents into highly compressed, full color, high resolution DjVu images, that can then searched by keyword, efficiently archived and viewed via the Internet.

The Kofax TAP program is intended for a select group of vendors whose solutions complement and extend the reach of Kofax products. The program currently includes more than 125 members, including input device manufacturers, third-party independent software vendors, application developers and general technology partners.
