LizardTech Signs Distribution Agreement with NewWave Technologies to Represent its Document Imaging Products in the U. S.
Seattle, WA, July 21st, 2004 – LizardTech, Inc., a leader in software solutions that make it significantly easier to manage, distribute, access and view digital content, today announced the signing of NewWave Technologies, a nationally recognized, full-service distributor focusing on document imaging, automated data storage, and CD/DVD duplication solutions, as the exclusive distributor of Document Express with DjVu in the US.

Document Express with DjVu® (pronounced “Déjà vu”) is a suite of software tools that enable the conversion of statements, articles, manuals, records, catalogs, and more into highly compressed, web-friendly, searchable DjVu document images, without compromising visual quality, text resolution, or legibility of the document.
The Document Express format, DjVu, is the premier open format for managing, storing, exchanging and viewing color documents. Whether scanned or electronic, documents converted to DjVu format become highly compressed document images. Typical compression ratios of between 300:1 and 1000:1 make the use of color scanning in business applications a cost-effective choice as the size of color document DjVu files are equivalent in size to black and white document TIFF or JPEG files. A typical full-color letter size DjVu file at 300 dots per inch, for example, produces a mere 50kb file size enabling important documents to move swiftly across a network or the Internet.
