A080103 - “Administer Express Server” menu option does not work

When Windows Vista users who are administrators select the “Administer Express Server” option from the Tools menu, nothing happens.
Solution:
There are several ways to address this problem. You may set GeoExpress to run as an administrator or set it to run in XP Compatibility Mode. However, we recommend that you let the operating system fix the problem itself as follows:
- Close GeoExpress after attempting to use the Administer Express Server option. A dialog appears indicating that Vista noticed a “compatibility” issue and will make a change accordingly.
- Start GeoExpress again and choose Administer Express Server from the Tools menu.
On Windows 7 you must run GeoExpress as administrator if you wish to use the Express Server Management Console. That is a separate issue, but it will also cause you to get an error when choosing the Administer Express Server option if you are not running GeoExpress as administrator.
Status:
Express Server 8 introduced a graphical user interface (GUI) that replaces the "Administer Express Server" option. Beginning with GeoExpress 9, this option has been removed.Reference Number:
