A110701 - Cannot Encode to MG2 Format

Products:

GeoExpress version 8.0 and earlier

Summary:

Attempt to encode to MG2 format fails with an error:

mktemp error [3037]

Cause:

GeoExpress creates temp files while encoding images. If you do not specify a temp directory for the temporary storage of these files in your Preferences, GeoExpress is supposed to create them in your “User” Temp directory but it does not.

Solution:

This issue was fixed in version 8.5 of GeoExpress. For versions 8.0 and earlier, specify a directory for temp files in your Preferences as follows:

  1. From the Options menu choose Preferences.
  2. Select the General tab if it is not already selected.
  3. In the Temp field under “Default Directories” enter a directory to which you have write permissions (e.g. your “My Documents” folder) and click OK.
