C060801 - Configuring Express Server with Windows 2003

Express Server 5.3Summary:
Due to the security changes in IIS, there are several extra steps required to configure Express Server 5.3 with Windows 2003:
Solution:
- Install Express Server normally (with or without the Style Server).
- Reboot if necessary.
- Open Internet Services Manager.
- Right click on Web Service Extensions and select Add a new Web service extension….
- For Extension name, enter “LizardTech Express Server”.
- In the Required files section, click Add….
- Select the Browse… button, and navigate to “$IMAGE_SERVER_HOMElib”.
- Select “lt_iserv_iis.dll”.
- Click Open, then OK to choose the file.
- Select the Set extension status to allowed checkbox.
- Click OK to dismiss the “New Web Service Extension” box.
- Stop and start IIS.
- Install Express Server normally (with or without the Style Server).

Status:
This issue was addressed in Express Server 6. The extra steps listed above are not required in Express Server 6.This article was last updated or verified on 4 August 2012.
