Products:

GeoExpress

Summary:

Running on Windows XP or Vista, the text in the GeoExpress user interface is obscured or cut-off or is otherwise prevented from displaying fully.

Cause:

The computer’s text dots-per-inch (DPI) settings are set too high for the program.

Solution:

Windows XP

  1. Right-click on the desktop and select Properties from the context menu.
  2. Choose the Settings tab.
  3. On the General tab, click Advanced.
  4. Make sure your DPI setting is set to Normal (96 DPI) and click Apply.
  5. Click OK to exit each open dialogue box.

Windows Vista

  1. Right-click on the desktop and select Personalize from the context menu. The Personalization pane appears.
  2. Click Adjust font size (DPI) in the lefthand Tasks menu. The DPI Scaling dialog appears.
  3. Select Default scale (96 DPI) – fit more information, then click OK.
  4. Close the Personalization pane.

Status:

This is only an issue on earlier platforms. Windows 7 scales UI elements properly.
