A080201 - Data cartridge missing or not working after upgrade

Summary:

When upgrading from GeoExpress 6.x to GeoExpress versions 7 and later on a 64-bit operating system using a data cartridge, you must upgrade the Express Cartridge Manager (ECM) software. This changes your ECM ID and causes the old cartridge to become incompatible.

Solution:

  1. Take a screen-shot of your existing cartridge amount:
    • Access your ECM information by clicking Start Menu > (All) Programs > LizardTech > Express Cartridge Manager > Cartridge Manager Info (or ECM Info)
    • Take a screen-shot (Alt+PrtScn on Windows), then paste it into a paint program and save as a JPEG, or paste it into a Word document.
  2. Uninstall the Express Cartridge Manager (ECM)
  3. Install the new 64-bit ECM from your installation disk.
  4. Send your new ECM ID number (listed on the ECM info dialog) and your old screenshot to licensing@lizardtech.com and specify that you are upgrading to the 64-bit edition. Please include any relevant account information.
