F070301 - How do I install my floating license?

To set up a floating license: 

  1. Install the License Server on your server from your GeoExpress installation DVD.
  2. On your server, in License Server Tools and Utilites, open the file wechoid.exe (Unix: run echoid and save the codes reported).
    1. Clear all checkboxes except for Ethernet Address.Your selector should read “0x10″.
    2. Your code should appear to the right. Please note your selector and code for later use in obtaining a license.
  3. Include your locking code in a license request using the Product Activation Form.

You will receive instructions to install the license. License installation instructions are also available in the knowledge base article A060409 – Installing a floating license using WlmAdmin.

Once the license has been installed, the workstations will automatically “see” the license on the subnet and activate.
