A060505 - Metadata preserves original format information for MG3 composites

Summary:

In the case of an MG3 composite, the INPUT_FORMAT and INPUT_NAME metadata reflect the inputs to the component tiles, not the component tiles themselves.

Cause:

Both INPUT_NAME and INPUT_FORMAT refer to TIFF tags, even though an MG3 composite is created using MrSID files. This is the correct behavior. It may be tempting to assume that INPUT_NAME and INPUT_FORMAT should refer to “xxx1.sid, 2.sid, ..” and “MrSID” respectively, since those MrSID-compressed tiles are the input images for the composite. Nevertheless, it is the information about the more interesting source (precompression) imagery that is being preserved.
