A060404 - Using ESRI projection files for reprojection

Products:

GeoExpress

Summary:

You can use your ESRI projection file as a custom WKT when doing Reprojections in GeoExpress.

Solution:

In versions 7.0 and later of GeoExpress:

  1. Add your image to the job list in GeoExpress.
  2. Choose Reproject from the Tools menu. The Reprojection Manager appears.
  3. Select the Reproject Image checkbox if it is not yet selected, then click Select Coordinate Reference System for either Source Image or Output Image. The Coordinate Reference System Select appears.
  4. Choose the Region, Subregion and System from the drop-down menus (in GeoExpress 8 and later you may simply begin entering a projection system in the System field and select from the automatically generated choices) or select one from the Recently Used Systems drop-down menu.
  5. Select the Use Custom WKT checkbox. The “Select WKT” drop-down list becomes available.
  6. Select Add a new WKT from the drop-down list. The “Edit User Defined WKT” dialog box appears.
  7. Enter a name in the WKT Name field.
  8. Enter the text string in the WKT field either by hand or by copying and pasting from another source. You can also use a text file or ESRI CRS file (*.prj) as input by clicking Browse. ESRI prj files are typically installed in “C:/Program Files/ArcGIS/Coordinate Systems”.
  9. Click OK once to save the new WKT, then twice more to exit all dialogs.

In GeoExpress 6.0, follow these steps:

  1. Add your image to the job list in GeoExpress.
  2. Choose Encode Options from the Options menu.
  3. Select the Reprojection tab.
  4. Select the Reproject Image checkbox if it is not already selected, then click Select Coordinate Reference System for either Source Image or Output Image. The Coordinate Reference System Select appears.
  5. Choose the Region, Subregion and System from the drop-down menus.
  6. Follow Steps 5 – 9 in the procedure for versions 7.0 and later above.
