GeoExpress Download and Installation Instructions


IMPORTANT NOTE: GeoExpress 9.5.5 is a new version that only affects the client application of GeoExpress. It will use the existing serial number and license. No changes are necessary or recommended on the license server for this upgrade.

Step 1 - Download the Installation Files

GeoExpress for Windows – The standard installation of GeoExpress on Windows. (This exe file is 183 MB)
GeoExpress for Linux – If you have a Linux operating system you need this version. (This tar.gz file is 67 MB)
I need something else - Additional tools and 32-bit installers available.

 

Step 2 - Click here for instructions for:

Step 3 - Instructions for new users:

  1. Download the installer.
  2. Once it is downloaded, click Setup.exe to start the installation process.
  3. The installer will prompt for your serial number. You can find this in the order confirmation that you received from LizardTech. If you do not know the serial number you can select the Trial Mode checkbox and manually enter it after the installation.
  4. When completed click “Finish”. GeoExpress is now installed.
  5. If you did not have the serial number during installation, open GeoExpress and go to Options > Licensing to enter your serial number. Review the serial number knowledgebase article if you need assistance.
  6. To license the software, click the "Send Activation Request" from the License and Cartridge Management window. Fill and submit the request form and someone from LizardTech Support will send your new license once the information is verified.

 

Step 3 - Instructions to upgrade from GeoExpress 9.5 and newer:

  1. Download the installer.
  2. Once it is downloaded, click Setup.exe to start the installation process.
  3. Select the Update option on the installer to install the new version. The GeoExpress installer no longer needs to uninstall the current version.
  4. When completed click “Finish”. GeoExpress is now updated.

 

Step 3 - Instructions for GeoExpress 9.1 and earlier:

IMPORTANT NOTE: Installing GeoExpress 9.5.5 will uninstall any previous versions of the software.  GeoExpress 9.5.5 requires a serial number issued from LizardTech in order to function.  You must have a current support agreement with LizardTech in order to receive a serial number.

  1. Uninstall your current version of GeoExpress in the control panel. Do not uninstall the cartridge manager if you have one installed.  If the uninstall tool prompts you to restart the computer at this point make sure you restart before proceeding to installing the new version!
  2. Download the installer.
  3. Once it is downloaded, click Setup.exe to start the installation process.
  4. The installer will prompt for your serial number. You can find this in the order confirmation that you received from LizardTech. If you do not know the serial number you can select the Trial Mode checkbox and manually enter it after the installation.
  5. When completed click “Finish”. GeoExpress is now updated.
  6. If you did not have the serial number during installation, open GeoExpress and go to Options > Licensing to enter your serial number. Review the serial number knowledgebase article if you need assistance.

 

GeoExpress Toolkit
LizardTech License Server 64-bit - License server for serving out floating licenses. Install this when instructed by support. (This exe file is 94MB)
Express Cartridge Manager Server 64-bit - Application for serving cartridge over the network. Typically installed with the License Server. (This zip file is 35MB)
GeoExpress ISO – This disc image includes all the components of GeoExpress, command line tools, license server, GeoViewer, ExpressView Browser Plug-In, Express Cartridge Manager Server, and Linux installations. If you need 32-bit versions of any of these, this is the option to choose. (This ISO file must be burned to a DVD before running and the file download is 1.5GB)
