Express Server

Seamless High-Resolution Streaming, No Matter Your Network Speed
Complex GIS raster datasets often involve extremely large file sizes, resulting in significant demands on both server infrastructure and client bandwidth. This creates latency challenges for data providers as well as end users attempting to visualize the imagery.
Express Server optimizes this process by dynamically extracting and transmitting only the pixel tiles relevant to the current viewport and zoom level. By eliminating the need to transfer the entire dataset, the server minimizes data payloads and accelerates image rendering.
As a result, terabyte-scale geospatial imagery can be streamed in real time, enabling rapid visualization without full dataset downloads or long transfer delays. End users—including enterprise clients, organizational stakeholders, and the general public—can consume the imagery through standard web protocols without requiring specialized GIS software or high-performance computing environments.
Host, Manage, and Stream High-Resolution Mapping Data Globally
The Express Server provides a robust, standards-based delivery framework that enables seamless access to large-scale raster datasets and LiDAR point clouds from any device or network environment. By leveraging industry-standard protocols such as OGC WMS, WCS, and WMTS, the server ensures interoperability with virtually all enterprise GIS platforms, remote sensing software, and web-mapping applications. Data consumers can connect through thin clients, desktop GIS, or custom APIs without requiring proprietary plug-ins or specialized user training. This standards-compliant approach not only accelerates data dissemination across distributed teams but also guarantees scalability, security, and performance for mission-critical geospatial workflows.

Cross-Platform Integration with Legacy and Modern Applications
Integrating Express Server into your operational workflow is straightforward and designed for maximum compatibility. At its core, Express Server only requires a standards-compliant WMS client to begin serving imagery, enabling you to connect seamlessly with most GIS, CAD, and enterprise mapping applications that support OGC-compliant web services.

For environments that demand strict adherence to industry protocols, Express Server exposes a fully open-standard OGC WMS API, ensuring interoperability across platforms without proprietary lock-in. This makes it possible to stream high-resolution imagery and raster datasets directly into established enterprise systems such as ArcGIS, QGIS, ERDAS IMAGINE, AutoCAD, and other OGC-compliant clients.

When working with MrSID compressed imagery, Express Server provides an optimized custom API engineered for advanced performance. This API leverages the unique compression properties of MrSID to deliver fast, bandwidth-efficient image streaming, even at massive scales, while supporting advanced features such as selective decompression, multi-resolution delivery, and real-time pan/zoom functionality.
Reduce Storage Costs
Our Express Server is engineered to efficiently deliver imagery in a variety of compressed formats, including MrSID, JPEG 2000, LAZ, and more. By reading and serving data directly from these compressed files, the server eliminates the need for intermediate decompression, dramatically reducing both storage requirements and bandwidth usage. This streamlined approach ensures faster image delivery to clients, lowers operational costs, and maximizes performance for geospatial applications, mapping services, and remote sensing workflows.
