Cannot install GeoViewer without admin privileges

Admin privileges are required

Issue

During setup, you are asked to enter an administrator user ID and password, or you get an error telling you to see your IT administrator.  I thought that GeoViewer did not require administrator privileges to install?

Solution

No administrative privileges are required for installation or setup of GeoViewer itself, but some of the prerequisite software (such as Windows .NET Framework) does require administrative privileges. Some of this software may already be installed on your computer, but if any of the prerequisite software is missing, GeoViewer’s setup process attempts to automatically download and install it. During this process, you may be prompted to enter administrative user credentials or instructed to see your IT administrator, depending on your operating system.  Since these prerequisites are required to install GeoViewer, you must install them first.
